Bruins Snap Losing Streak Empty Bruins Snap Losing Streak

For the third week in a row the Bruins were voted in the GOTW. The last 2 weeks the GOTW wasn't so close as UCLA was blown out by Stanford and Oregon. Now they finally head back home to face #7 Colorado hoping to snap the losing streak. The game started well for the Bruins as they returned the opening kickoff to midfield and inches from breaking it all the way. That would set them up nicely though as two plays in Hundley hit Payton on a streak for a 50 yard TD to give the Bruins an early 7-0 lead. UCLA would be able to force a punt the next drive but Hundley continued his turnover problems and would throw a interception setting up the Buffs nice. Colorado would answer with a quick TD that would tie the game at 7 a piece. In the second quarter UCLA would start to pound away on the ground game with their new look Pistol based offense and it would turn out to be a day to remember for James as he broke a 63 yard TD run to give UCLA the lead back 14-7. The two teams would play good defense most of the quarter trading punts but toward the end of the half Fuller would return the punt 33 yards setting up yet another TD connection from Hundley to Payton from 35 yards out as the Brunis went into the half up 21-7.

Durning the second half UCLA really dominated in the trenches for the most and would add on a FG in the 3rd quarter to take a 24-7 lead into the fourth. Colorado would not die though as they would drive down and punch in a TD with a little under 5min left to bring the score to 24-14. The momentum was quickly shifted back to UCLA on the back of James though. Very next play from scrimmage he broke a 78 yard touchdown run to pretty much seal this game as the Bruins snapped their ugly 2 game slide and are back in control of the South with a 38-21 win. James would be the star as he rushed for 255 yards for 3TDs on 17 attempts. Coach Shady was very pleased for the first time since his debut against Cal.

"I am so proud of these boys coming in here and playing with so much pride after these last 2 weeks. All that is behind us now and I'm sure it goes without saying James is getting the game ball here today. Now it's back to practice as we have yet another big game next as head to the desert!!"

Anyone can beat anyone on any given day. You proved that today as you bounced back. Good job
