Utah Could Do No Wrong Against Weber St.

Salt Lake City, Utah - After getting his first win in his college career, Coach Meredith faces off against FCS opponent, Weber St. Utah dominated the first half scoring 21 points, one on the ground by the way of Kelvin York, then Travis Wilson hooked up with his number 1 WR, Dres Anderson for a 71 yard TD to make it 14-0. Weber St. then drove down the field but the Utah defense held strong and only gave up a FG. On the ensuing kickoff Dres Anderson found a hole on the left side of the field and no one could catch him as he took the kick back 102 yards for a TD at the end of the 1st quarter, Utah leads 21-3. Utah would tack on another TD on a 2 yard TD run by Kelvin York to give him 2 on the day and not long after Travis Wilson scampered in for 5 yard TD and took a 35-3 lead into the 2nd half.

Second Half was all Utah as the backups came in and got some work done. Tight-end Westlee Tonga got his first TD on the season by the way of an Adam Schulz 21 yard TD pass. Lucky Radley would add onto his 4 TDs on the season with 2 more TDs on the ground. Quade Chappuis ended the Utah fun by taking an interception back 81 yards for the first defensive score by Utah on the season. Utah takes home the win over Weber St. 63-3. We caught up with Coach Meredith after the game and he had a few thoughts on the game. "We came out ready to play to today on all sides of the ball. Special Teams with Anderson's kick return, offense was clicking on all cylinders, and defense only gave up a FG the whole game. Now that's what I call a complete game."

Senior Dres Anderson finished the day with 232 All-Purpose yards and 2TDs. Both QBs for Utah finished perfect, Adam Schulz threw for 1 of 1 21 yards and a TD while Travis Wilson finished 5 of 5 150 yards and a TD. The ground game is what dominated the game today as Kelvin York and Lucky Radley had 2 TDs each and a combined 161 yards.

Week 3 the Utah Utes will start off PAC-12 play as Oregon St. comes into town. Hope all 45000 fans in Rice-Eccles Stadium will be rocking then. Until next time this is Kyle Sullivan with your Utah Utes Football Update. Go Utes!
