Beating a Dead Beaver! (Week 5)

Boulder, Colorado - The game this week took place at Reser Stadium, home of the Oregon State Beavers.  The drive was a journey all on its own, but the Buffaloes arrived ready to give it their all.  The Beavers were 2-2 for the season, but one thing coach Dayne stressed was to never underestimate your opponent.  The Buffs came out of the tunnel raring to go and it seems the Beaver defense forgot to show up.

Shane Dillon made one crucial mistake during his excellent drive to kickoff the game by misreading the defensive secondary which cost him an interceptions early in the game, but the Buffs defense managed to stop every drive the Beavers had in the first three quarters.  They allowed under 50 rush yards throughout the whole game as defensive captain Chicera Uzo Diribe compiled a great game with six tackles and one sack to anchor the Buffaloes defense.  Still Cody Vaz, quarterback for the Beavers, fought hard to drive down the field, but could not get past the 50 yard line until the 4th quarter.  

The Buffaloes offense had an outstanding all around game as junior Christian Powell ran for 179 yards and two touchdowns to end the day.  Shane Dillon finished the game with 191 yards while throwing 15 for 19 completions, all the while gaining 191 yards and two touchdowns.  He spread the ball around the whole receiving core with precision not usually possessed by a freshman.  The Beavers managed to score late in the game due to some less than stellar play by the CU backups, but it was too little too late.  The game ended with your Colorado Buffaloes winning by a score of 31 - 15.

Your Colorado Buffaloes are now 4-0 on the season and are facing with an insurmountable challenge as they face off next week against the #4 team in the nation Oregon Ducks.  I'll see you at Folsom field for next week's matchup, and don't forget to save me a victory Coors!
