Week 7 Post game

Pullman, Wa- The Cougars return home after a string of loses had cooled there hot start down a bit. Things still did not look sharp as they returned home this week and had to battle til the end with a lesser team. Coach Leach after the game only had this to say, " The way our defense played I dont know how we won. On paper 5 INT's looks great BUT we should have at least doubled that." It's true washington state had been so strong against the pass this year until these last 2 games where the DB's bit on everything but didn't catch a darn thing. Meanwhile the run game has been nearly non existant in last 2 games against two pretty good run offenses. " We got the game we wanted, a all out air raid who can throw the ball into the endzone the most type of game. The type of game we KNOW we should be able to beat anyone in the nation with. " OC LaxRoxTopher on the games tempo.

The ball was put in the air 90/126 plays called in this game. Wazzu threw for 420 yards and 5 Td's while OSU's lack of throw it out football showed with there 5 INT to 3 TD game even though they threw for more yards. The T.O.P was strongly in OSU's favor but Wazzu made the most out of their chances with most drives lasting less than 45 seconds.

A crucial missed field goal at the end of the half really put wazzu in a tough place as they tried to put points up after a Beaver scoop and score cost them the lead. On a 32 yard field goal Furney just... wiffed it! (controller didnt register my push forward on kick due to a lag, causing ball to go all of about 5 yards!). Luckily they were able to hold on for the win. 10 Receivers caught passes 7 of which for over 4o yards and all 5 TD's were to different guys which is great to see there is no predictability on who to try and stop in the redzone. Great game and the Player of the game is split between the two QB's! Halliday played great all game and put Wazzu in the redzone with 40 seconds left before leaving the game with a small injury (will be able to return next week). Also Apodaca came up in the clutch once again as he tossed in the game winner with 28 seconds left on only his 3rd toss of the game.

Next week it's off to Eugene to conquer the better half of the Oregon schools and re-solidify themselves as a true contender for the Pac 12 north crown. Its going to be tough but this season hasn't been easy! Wave the Flag, Go Cougs!

Nice win buddy its always good to get a conference win. I cant wait to see how this conference ends up playing out. Also very nice and interesting write up:D
