Week 9 Recap #4 Stanford @ OSU

Corvallis, OR- Coach Eyeofthehawkeye knew he was on the hot seat. The fans were chanting, "Fire him, fire him". The media was making fun of him. He had to prove that he was worthy of winning, and that's just what he did today. The Oregon State Beavers (3-5) beat the #4 Stanford Cardinal. It was one of the best wins in Oregon State history.

Coach Eyeofthehawkeye told his team to just go out there and have fun and not worry about the pressure. He also changed the way they played offense. Today, they played to win, instead of playing not to lose.

The Beavers scored on their opening drive, thanks to the hard week in practice. Stanford responded on their first drive as well, knotting up the score at 7-7. The Beavers defense stepped up today, completely shutting down the Cardinal offense in the first half. The Beavers regained the lead in the second quarter putting them up 14-7 and halftime. The locker room speech was powerful as Coach Eyeofthehawkeye got very emotional. "You guys may have the worst record in the conference, but I believe in you. I BELIEVE you guys can win it. You just have to finish. Finish the game!", was what he told his players. The Beavers came out with fire in the second half by scoring another touchdown and stomping on the Stanford offense once again. The Beavers led 21-7 at the start of the 4th quarter. OSU played great defense until the Cardinal scored with 3:49 to go in the game. The Beavers still led 21-14. They knew they had to score on their next drive to FINISH the game. They did! Storm Woods stormed across the goal line with 1:23 left to play. The Beavers led 28-14. Stanford managed to score with only 9 seconds left, but the Beavers still held on to the lead 28-21. It all came down to the onside kick. Stanford recovered it! Coach Eyeofthehawkeye held his hands up to his face and tried not to cry. He could not believe that they had let Stanford come back. He called in the prevent defense and the Beavers stopped the Cardinal on 1st down. There was only 4 seconds left. Stanford had to throw one up there and hope for a miracle. The Beavers swatted down the pass and the took the victory! The fans rushed the field as the emotion just burst from the players. They Believed they could win and would not be denied. They have just beaten the #4 team in the country! Coach Eyeofthehawkeye deserves some respect. He may have just saved his job.

The Beavers proved today that they can beat anyone. They are confident for the first time this season. They will remain at home as they take on the #22 USC Trojans next week. Their confidence level is very high though. Watch out USC!

thanks shady23! I played surprisingly good defense for the first time. Not bad for a team who barely beat FCS Midwest in week 1.

lol i forgot about that! to your small defense FCS teams are harder this year

I just bought ncaa 14 before this dynasty started. I was used to playing on varsity. I guess I wasn't ready for All-American in week 1

Yea this years game is a lot more challenging than previous I believe. For once in my offline dynasty I'm not running for a national title in my first season all of my games have come down to the 4th quarter makes it so much more fun!!

Yeah I always love playing football games against other users, because the games are closer and I actually get an adrenaline rush when the game is on the line.

Lol it was a joke but i could care less about being "marked for death" as you put it. Bring it wont bother me none even if you do kick my ass each we play.
