Corvallis, OR- This week, the Oregon State Beavers hosted the #5 Washington Huskies. This game was a lot closer than the experts predicted. Nonetheless, the Huskies won again as remain the candidate for the 2014 Rose Bowl. With this loss, the Beavers will not be able to make it to a bowl game with 7 losses. This year was a major setback from their 9-4 year last year. The Beavers are unsure if they will have their head coach for next year. The game against Oregon next week will be huge for Coach Mike Riley because it is a huge rivalry game.

Sean Mannion got the start again today, but played average all game long. He threw 2 interceptions and only one touchdown pass to Brandin Cooks. The Huskies did not turn the ball over once, which hurt the Beavers.

OSU scored on their first drive, putting pressure on the Huskies early, but they responded on their next drive from a long TD run from Sankey. The Beavs kicked a field goal early in the 2nd quarter, but the huskies scored 10 unanswered points to end the first half. The score at the half was 17-10 in favor of the Huskies. Washington took care of business in the 3rd quarter scoring 14 points making the score 31-10 with 2 minutes left in the 3rd. OSU was down by 21 and could not stop Washington's rushing attack. The game was pretty much over at this point. The Beavers would not give up though. They scored 14 unanswered points in the 4th to make it a 7 point game at 31-24. The Huskies rushing attack could not be stopped though, as they ran the rest of the clock out. The Beavers had no time outs left, but Washington scored an unnecessary touchdown with a minute left. The Beavers threw an interception on their next drive and that would seal the game for the Huskies.

WASH will move to 9-2 on the season and will possibly play in the Rose Bowl if they can beat Washington State next week. As for the Beavers, they will not be going to a bowl game, but you can be sure that they will be competitive next week against Oregon in the Civil War. These two teams hate each other and want to win. The problem is that it will be played in Eugene. The Beavers have not won in Eugene for quite some time. They will be looking to end their season on a high note though.
