By now you know that Coach Shaw is no longer with the program and Coach Mister Champion took over the team. Lets take a few moments to find out about Champion and his new look Cardinal squad.

Q:Coach Champion, you now the head coach of what many consider a power how do you plan to stay on or near the top in the Pac-12?
A :Coach Harbaugh started something great here and Coach Shaw used the same tools to win the Pac last season....I will use the same methods that got us to this point. It all starts with the line, without them playcalls are just words being yelled. Then our power run game and quick strike air attack has to be handled by quality qb play.Hogan will call the plays on the field and we will use a simple philosophy score more then your opponent. ....wins the game.

Q:Taylor is gone who will step in and replace the schools all-time leading rusher?
A:We have a stable of backs that can handle the load, Wilkerson will be our #1 and Gaffney returned from baseball and will be back at #2.

Q:Any chance we see Barry Sanders?
A: (chuckles) Everyone wants to see Barry cuz of what his dad did back in the day, he will get limited carries but will be the main returner. If he is kicked to he will be an All American.

Q:Who do you think will be your toughest challenge in the Pac?
A:The North is by far the tougher side...Wazzu always pulls wins out his ass, Oregon has speed to spare and UW is always a tough out. As log as we are able to play our game we should be fine.

Q:Anything else you wanna say Coach?
A: I will leave you with this.If a tree falls in the woods does it make a sound? (Report starts to answer) "Well if a tr" (Coach interrupts) doesn't matter this tree never falls.

Sjsu came to Stanford and looked to finishes what they started...If you recall a late int stopped the Spartans upset bid. This Stanford didn't look past them.Barry Sanders took the opening kickoff 102 yards to the house but it was called back due to a clip. It didn't matter this game was over early 24 -0 lead at half....Barry had an electric punt return td to end the 1st half scoring. Hogan was flawless going 14/16 for over 250 yards and a td. Final was 45-15, Army recap coming soon.
